Hello! I'm Isabel Shic.


I discovered my passion for design through The Sims and Minecraft. While other players were creating dramatic soap operas or fighting the Ender Dragon (I never made it that far), I was that kid obsessing over the perfect mid-century modern living room and debating which shade of brick would make a better accent wall.


As I got older, I began to appreciate the artistry and thoughtfulness that goes into designing user experiences. The same principles that make a great video game - engaging user experiences, intuitive interfaces, and a focus on the user’s needs and desires - also make a great product.


At UC Davis, where I studied computer science, I began building actual applications. My mission? Empowering users with products they love.


These days, you'll find me designing and developing at NASA Goddard Space and Flight Center. Most likely, I'm camped out at some local café, on my third latte, alternating between coding and showing strangers pictures of my cat – because what's the point of having a cat if you don't make everyone look at it?
